BiographyEMILY B. MARTIN splits her time between working as a park ranger and an author/illustrator, resulting in her characteristic eco-fantasy adventures. An avid hiker and explorer, her experiences as a ranger help inform the characters and worlds she creates on paper.
When not patrolling places like Glacier, Yellowstone, or Great Smoky Mountains National Parks, she lives in South Carolina with her husband, Will, and two daughters, Lucy and Amelia. |
FAQs and Contact:
Where should I buy your books?
Any book retailer should be able to order my books for you. That said, I encourage everyone to buy from independent booksellers whenever possible, especially your local sellers. Here are some independent bookstores that I have special relationships with---and many times they have signed copies of my books!
Fiction Addiction: My local indie seller in Greenville, SC, who often has piles of signed copies.
Turning Page Bookshop: One of my state's Black-owned booksellers, located in Goose Creek, SC.
M. Judson Booksellers: Another Greenville indie, who hosts all kinds of great literary events.
City Lights Bookstore: A favorite haunt of mine when I worked in Great Smokies, this Sylva, NC bookstore and café is where I wrote much of Creatures of Light.
Raven Book Store: This Lawrence, KS bookstore is run by one of my adventure buddies from my Philmont Scout Ranch days and does a lot to promote small businesses.
Of course, if you have a favorite local bookstore, please support them. You can ask them to order my books, or use Bookshop.org, which lets you order online through your local seller even if they don't have the book you want on their shelves.
Finally, please remember to support your public library system, too! If my books are not on their shelves, check inter-library loans, or request they stock a copy.
Do you take art commissions?
I am currently closed to commissions but may reopen slots in the future. Please watch for updates here and on social media regarding commission status. Commissions accepted include illustrations, paintings, and portraits. Commissions not accepted include logos and graphic design.
Can you send my manuscript to your agent?
Out of respect for my agent, please query your work using the official submission guidelines of Donaghy Literary Group. This holds true for any agent or agency.
